Who I am
Magnus Fasth. I have worked with CPQ since 2000, primarily with Tacton CPQ, both at Tacton Systems and in customer projects. I run cpq.se and work hands-on with teams that sell complex products. I am CPO at sailsrep.ai, focused on making quoting faster, safer, and easier to maintain with AI on top of explicit logic.
Core expertise
CPQ and product configuration: configuration logic, modular product structures, solution architecture, and the practical realities of adoption, ownership, and governance in real sales organizations. Full CPQ lifecycle experience: demos, pilots, implementation, coaching, change management, governance, long-term scaling, including lead roles in complex multinational programs such as Siemens Healthineers.
Audience
Sales leaders, product owners, solution architects, and CPQ stakeholders who struggle with complex products, messy data, slow quoting, and "why doesn't sales use the system?" scenarios. Posts are written to be shared internally: practical, opinionated, grounded in real work.
Perspective
CPQ is easy, the product is the hard part. Most CPQ problems are product structure, ownership, governance, and modularization problems, not tool problems. On AI: generative AI is strong at language and interpretation; correctness comes from constraints. The interesting work is combining the two, AI on top of explicit testable logic, not instead of it.
